You didn’t think I’d let a little thing like Jazz Fest deter me from commenting on this week’s episode of Treme, did you? I’m beginning to really love the show. I look forward to it every week, especially when I get to watch it with friends in the Treme, like this week. After the last concert on the last day of the festival, the rain really picked up. We had to eat the crawfish inside of the house, in the computer room. You gotta hand it to a host who’ll pony up his home office for standing around a table covered in rain soaked newspaper and crawfish carcasses.
The first scene in the emergency room captured what I’ve been saying all along – there is music everywhere all the time here. Some of my Treme gang knows the guy who the Steve Zahn character is based upon. He’s seems to be a Southern version of “The Dude” from The Big Lebowski and we’re all getting a pretty big kick out of him and his “Pot for Potholes” campaign. I warned you all that they ought to erect flags and name some of the potholes here. “New Orleans Cave of Mystery” seems as good a name as any.
And I think we can all agree the John Goodman YouTube stuff is a lot of fun and I’m guessing it’ll get even funnier and in your face.
