Christmas Tree 2013

Another year is coming to a close. Thanks to all of you who enjoy my blog. This blog is a labor of love for me and I’m so grateful for my readers, subscribers and those who love my love of New Orleans. I will be working on my Favorite Things list for 2013 over the Christmas break. Feel free to make suggestions here or on Facebook or Twitter.

In the meantime, enjoy these handmade ornaments on my tree. When I lived in Los Angeles, my friend Angela and I would get together on Sundays during the holiday season and make ornaments from Sculpey clay or beads. Over the years, we made a BUNCH of ornaments and we got pretty good at it. Our “Craft Sundays” are one of the things I miss most about L.A.

I’ve kept the tradition going. Though I don’t make the dozens a year I used to, I do try to make a few to commemorate the year’s events. Last year, I made Django Unchained inspired ornaments. This year, I plan to make a few Pussyfooter ornaments as soon as I find the time. I’m not worried about missing Christmas as I’ll once again be doing a Mardi Gras tree. Mardi Gras’ not until March this year. 3 months with a tree in the house? Only in NOLA.

Merry Christmas.
